lyrics

For a moment in time, we stopped.
Her antique expressions filled silence like clockwork.
And so she sang 'When did this all begin?'

Is this just a phase, coming to an end?
Is it just a phase? Just a passing moment in time?

She said 'Dont fear my dear children, it's almost over
love was a two way street but we're the only ones, and we're trying to change,
a moment too late. Don't fear my dear children, it's almost over'

We stopped and we stared, patiently waited,
Holding our breath as the earth slowly faded.
We had nothing to fear and nothing to lose.

With intervention came a price,
Only god knows what she's seen,
She used to live in paradise,
Dine with kings and queens,
And when she lifted her hand the masses would raise,
but in the end:

Everything's a phase, coming to an end.
Is it just a phase? Just a passing moment in time?

And as time came to pass we accepted our fate,
Early mourning, but moments too late.
We wouldn't hold hands, didn't get the rules,
Wouldn't love our brothers so we died alone as fools.

And so she sang 'When did this all begin?'
